The National Budget of the FY 2014-15 has been passed by the parliament on June 30 2014. Line Ministries will soon be communicated with their detail allocation.
Along with publishing the regular budget documents, few other publications on different issues were made. They are: 1) Gender Budget Report for forty ministries. 2) District Budget Report of seven districts form seven divisions (six Divisional head quarter districts and Tangail district of Dhaka Division), 3) “Railway Communication: Trends of Development”, 4) “Power and Energy Sector Development: Step Towards Success”, 5) “The Journey towards a Digital Bangladesh: Update 2014”, 6) “Bangladesher Daridro O Osomota: Uttoroner Pothe Jatra” (Bengali version)” and 7) “Porjoton Shilper Unnoyon O Bikash” (Bengali version). These books are aimed at providing necessary information for public at large so as to ensure their effective participation in the budgetary process. As part of the process of creating a critical mass of trained officials in Public Financial Management, Finance Division continues to deliver a 10-week flagship training course called “Fiscal Economics and Economic Management (FEEM). As many as 19 such courses have already been delivered and the 20th FEEM course will be commenced soon.
In addition, Finance Division has launched another flagship course namely “Budget Management Specialist (BMS) Course” for the line Ministry budget officials. By now a large number of line ministry officials have been provided with this course. Next BMS course will be commenced soon.
